Applications for new LPFM stations must be filed in the FCC’s LMS web portal. Before you get started, you’ll need an FRN (FCC Registration Number) and corresponding password. If you don’t have it yet, follow the instructions in our guide to getting an FRN.
You can fill out the FCC application a little bit at a time, and use it as a grocery list of what information to collect.
Here’s how to begin your new LPFM application after you log into LMS. (This application is formally “Form 2100 Schedule 318”, and you may hear it referred to as “Form 318” or “318”, and LMS calls it something else entirely!)
Select “File an Application” under the Applications tab and select “New Low Power FM Station Construction Permit Application”
