FCC Timeline for Low Power Community Radio
The FCC has not officially announced their timeline for licensing new low-power community radio stations. However, based on our experience with the FCC, we can predict the following schedule, which is subject to change:

FCC rules are finalized; low power community radio application published |

FCC filing window for low power community radio opens. Applications are due! |
Late 2012-2013 |
FCC awards construction permits to groups with no competing applications. |
2013-2016 |
FCC announces competing groups.Modification and settlement period.

New LPFM stations are built.Groups have 18 months after construction permit is granted to get on the air. |
