What’s involved:
• Share LPFM outreach information through listservs, community bulletin boards, and other forums in your area
• Distribute information about LPFM at a conference or festival you attend
• Work with local media outlets to get stories placed about community radio
Get started:
Study up. Check out this Introduction to Community Radio and learn the basics about low power community radio.
Download and print materials about LPFM to share at conferences, festivals, community meetings, or anywhere else you'll be this summer. Coming soon we'll have a flyer, poster, and press release template that you can customize for your events. Print out Radio Summer signup sheets today using our Contact Kit.
Raise your voice. We talk to people around us every day. Why not make community radio part of the conversation? Radio can be a powerful tool for cultural expression, grassroots organizing, and community building. Know an amazing non-profit group, school, or neighborhood that could use its own voice on the airwaves? Let them know about the upcoming opportunity to apply for their own station!
Collect contact info. Once you get people interested in starting community stations, the next step is to connect them back to us so we can follow up with additional information, support, and technical assistance. Use our Contact Kit to easily gather contact info from interested folks and share it securely with Prometheus and our station support team.
