| The Prometheus Radio Project is accepting applications for our "Bilingual Capacity Building Fellow" |
| Thursday, 27 August 2009 | |
|
The Prometheus Radio Project builds and advocates for participatory radio as a tool for social justice organizing and community expression. Over the past 10 years we have helped launch dozens of participatory radio stations including two primarily Spanish language farmworker led radio stations; Radio Conciencia in Immokalee, Florida and Radio Moviemiento in Woodburn, Oregon. In the coming years we are hoping to partner with many more Latino immigrant community organizations to start participatory radio stations that will serve as tools in their campaigns for economic human rights and social justice. To that end we are working towards becoming a bilingual organization and have created the Bilingual Capacity Building Fellowship to help us reach that goal.
The Bilingual Capacity Building Fellowship is an unpaid position, in which college credits can be earned. We are seeking an applicant who could work 8 hours/week from September 15-December 15. While this position is currently unpaid, there is potential for fellows to receive stipends to attend trainings related to multilingual capacity building. Fellows will be expected to work out of our office, which is located in West Philadelphia.
