Cheryl Leanza, JD, MPP
Cheryl is in the 1st year of her 3rd term on the Prometheus Radio Project’s Board. She is Treasurer and chairs the Finance Committee.

Professional:
Cheryl is the President of her consulting firm, A Learned Hand, LLC, www.alearnedhand.com. In this capacity she serves as policy advisor to the United Church of Christ’s historic media advocacy arm and as the Co-Chair of the Leadership Conference of Civil and Human Rights Media & Telecommunications Task Force. Her clients have included National Federation of Community Broadcasters, Future of Music Coalition, Public Knowledge, and Native Public Media, among others. Cheryl also teaches communications policy and First Amendment at Georgetown University.
Personal:
Cheryl lives in Chevy Chase, MD with her husband and two small girls (Daviana, 5 and Josie, almost 3). Although she sues the FCC on a regular basis, her husband works there too. On any given day you may hear small children in the background at her house, or, have to reschedule a meeting when Cheryl has to attend a parent-teacher conference or attend a sick kid. She loves being outdoors and reading a wide array or material, from Oprah magazine to acclaimed biographies of Churchill and Cleopatra.
