Almost everywhere in the United States, radio is a medium obsessed with delivering ears to advertisers (or underwriters). This story is not about radio as we have come to know it. It is about a station devoted to educating and organizing farm workers. Read Steve Pierce's Progressive article J.J. Tiziou took some magnificent photographs of the Immokalee Barn Raising. Pictures of the Barn Raising In an effort to give a voice to migrant workers, dozens of radio techies from around the country descended on the farming town of Immokalee over the weekend to build a community radio station.
